Katchen Duncan ~ Executive Director, Piano and Ukulele Teacher, Choir Director

Katchen is the Executive Director of the Bahama Village Music Program. Starting out as a piano teacher, Katchen has been with Bahama Village Music Program since 2002. Katchen began her piano career at the age of 8 with piano teacher Lillian Van Hest, later studying with Robin Kaplan, founder of BVMP. Robin recruited Katchen to teach piano at the Bahama Village Music Program and Katchen found her true calling in life, bringing the love and joy of music to future generations. Katchen’s devotion and dedication to the Bahama Village Music Program did not go unnoticed, and she was promoted to Program Director in early 2004. Since then, Katchen studied with renowned pianist Franko Richmond, and increased BVMP’s enrollment to over 150 students! The program’s expansion allowed for the addition of Kate Divoll as Program Director and Ashli Mingo-Tillett as Assistant Director, allowing Katchen to oversee the program as Executive Director. Now directing both choirs and teaching ukulele orchestra, Katchen’s dedication to BVMP’s mission of music for every child has kept the program going all these years.

Nora Revelin ~ Steel Pan Instructor

Bahama Village Music Program is thrilled to welcome Nora Revelin back to Key West and the musical education of our youngest community members. Mrs. Revelin retired from teaching at Gerald Adams Elementary School after giving the gift of music to generations of families in our island community to focus on her family. This left the students of Bahama Village Music Program without a steel pan instructor, causing the House of Pan steel pan band to disperse. Very recently, Mrs. Revelin has decided to return to teaching at BVMP and we cannot let her get away! Mrs. Revelin will instruct the students of HOB in melody, arranging, harmony and making great music!
